The Ormsby Club is located at the corner of 7^th and Curry Streets, in Carson City. Although surrounded by scaffolding and construction it is OPEN for business. 

The best way to describe the Ormsby Club:

Picture the CHEERS television show – only with slot machines in the background. 

    As in CHEERS, there’s a long, horseshoe shaped, comfortable bar, large plasma TVs for the sports fans, and a wide variety of draft beer, along with bottles of domestic and imports  for the “Norms” in attendance.

     The Ormsby Club offers slot players a friendly, low key, elegant atmosphere, serviced by super-attentive attendants and other support staff, aimed at keeping your drink glasses and your bellies full. 

     It’s as clean a slot club as you will ever find, having received stellar ratings from the health department since it opened a year ago. Special air handling system  designed in to extract smoke from the air.  Our non-smoking patrons have told us that they don’t smell cigarette smoke like in other clubs, and our smoking patrons have told us that they don’t feel that they are disturbing their neighbors.  Come by and check it out.

     Convenient access to the Ormsby Club is from the Ormsby House Parking Garage.  Come visit our version of Sammy, Diane, Carla, Norm and Cliff.

Welcome to the Ormsby House web site. 

     If you’ve driven down Carson Street recently, you’ve no doubt looked at the Ormsby House project going on and wondered: what are those maniacs trying to do?            

     We’ve asked ourselves the same question.  So what are we trying to do (besides instigating the questioning of our sanity by the good citizens of Carson City)?

     Simply put, we’re intent on restoring the Jewel of Carson City back to the elegant greatness that she enjoyed 30 plus years ago. 

     We took on this quixotic goal completely sober.

     We’d like you to share some of the journey in this remodel with you.  If you enjoy other people’s pain (the Germans use the word schadenfreude., we’ve got plenty to share with you. You’ll certainly learn something about gargantuan-sized re-models (makes the words “don’t try this at home” a gross understatement).

     You’ll also get a feel for the challenges of starting a dozen (or more) businesses at once (hotel, casino, 4 bars, wedding chapel, coffeehouse, fine dining, buffet, nightclub, entertainment center).

     Now that the project is moving at a good pace, if you bookmark this page for occasional visits you’ll be able to know the question “when’s it going to open?” almost as soon as we do.

     Thank you for your interest in the Ormsby House.  The rest of the trip will require you to engage your imagination and see this project through the eyes of a child (or more appropriately an architect – which in our opinion is about the same difference).
